So you’ve asked yourself the big questions to get started with planning your wedding (Engaged… Now what?). Before it all starts to pile on (or maybe because it already is!), here are 4 Tips to reduce stress as you move forward with planning.
Tip #1: One task at a time!
If you’re here you have already gotten the vibe that trying to plan a wedding while working or going to school can be stressful! So, apart from hiring a fantabulous wedding planner, one of the best things you can do is make a checklist to give yourself some structure as you tackle planning. Usually the sense of “things must be done” is more overwhelming than the actual list. I would suggest starting with a list like this (Start Planning Checklist).
Tip #2: Pick vendors you trust.
Your vendors will set the vibe for your wedding day. From the way they understand what you want, to how they speak to your guests, to the unseen ways they anticipate needs before it becomes a thing… All of these vendors are in your space and the more you “click” with the team your hire on, the more relaxed your day will be!
Tip #3: Focus on why you are getting married.
This really can help put it all into perspective!! The point isn’t throwing a huge party or having the most impressive wedding of the year. It’s that you found the one person you want to do the rest of your life with. If something that really doesn’t matter to you or other-half is feeling like a major stressor, don’t worry about it 🙂 Oooooor, you can also…
Tip #4: Ask for help!
Weddings are a lot. A lot of decisions. A lot of details. A lot of emotions. If you are feeling at all overwhelmed by all the things that come with planning a wedding, step outside to take a breath (or a bunch of breaths!) and get some sun while you reach out to your Coddiwomple Events planner, family, friends or your bridesmaids/groomsmen.
